[tps_footer]Today, Sonam Kapoor unveiled the first theatrical trailer of her movie Khoobsurat, which is Disney India’s first Indian movie. A remake of 1980 Hrishikesh Mukherjee gem by the same name, Khoobsurat has evolved by becoming princelier in its approach. In fact, it has a good blend of Disney’s brand of fairy tales with a Prince Charming and Indian values. But apart from the interesting trailer, it was something else that caught our attention at the event.
Sonam wore a white dress, paired with red pumps but her earrings didn’t quite match with each other!
On being asked about the same pat came Sonam’s reply, “I’m wearing different coloured earrings because I couldn’t find two of the same colour. So yeah…maybe it will become a fashion trend.”
“Excited for you to see the trailer of my movie #Khoobsura,” Sonam tweeted with the trailer link.
“Its time to know me aka #Khoobsurat Mili and my prince charming better.. Less than 24 hours to go for the trailer launch!! Hoot! Hoot,” Sonam tweeted. “The family of royals and the family of misfits!!!” she wrote in another tweet. The teaser showed the actress kissing her co-star Fawad Khan.
Sonam’s co-star in the film is Fawad Khan, the man who in a very short span of time has made many Indian girls go crazy for him with his show Zindagi Gulzar Hai. Thanks to no melodramatic and tearjerking content, the show gained immense popularity and Fawad aka Zarun Junaid became a darling. Hence, at the trailer all eyes were waiting to catch first personal glimpse of him.
Such was his magic on the females seated in the press area, most of the questions were thrown at him. But a very humble and visibly blushing Fawad just kept thanking people for all the love. While all this was on, Sonam kept interjecting by giving statements, “Didn’t I tell you girls here just love you!” or “He is so hot…and his Hindi is amazing.” We wonder if Sonam was feeling overshadowed by the presence of such a goodlooking gentleman next to her. Because we felt so!

Set in Rajasthan, Khoobsurat is the story of Dr. Mili Chakravarty (played by Sonam Kapoo) – a middle class physiotherapist from Delhi. Mili is sent to Rajasthan to treat the paraplegic Shekhar Rathore, Raja of Sambalgarh. Over the course of her stay in the mahal, Mili charms the Rathore family, especially young Yuvraj Singh Rathore (Fawad Khan) – with her free spirit and funny antics.
The film stars Rekha, Kirron Kher, Ratna Pathak Shah and Aamir Raza Husain.
Directed by Shashank Ghosh, the film also stars Ratna Pathak, Kirron Kher, Aamir Raza Hussein, Simran Jehani and Kaizad Kotwal. The film is produced by Rhea Kapoor and portrays Sonam as the royal misfit. ‘Khoobsurat’ is slated to release on September 19 this year.[/tps_footer]
