The trailer is very filmy and opens with a sleeping Humpty Sharma who is dreaming of Kavya Pratap Singh and ends with him watching the climax from the film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge with tears in his eyes.
Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania has been shot in Delhi and has a lot of glimpses from films like Band Baaja Baaraat, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and but obviously Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is being produced by Karan Johar and is been directed by newcomer Shashank Khaitan.
“I have a lot of memories of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. I started my career from there; it is and will be the largest part of my career. The film with its epic love story and innocence had set the barometer. After this, a lot of love stories were made but nobody could touch that bar. It is the pillar of love stories ” Karan told reporters here at the trailer launch of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.
“Our film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is an ode to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. One will see glimpses of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge but the love story is different from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. We have made this film with honesty, integrity and with an intention to entertain people,” added the talented filmmaker.
