Trailer Review: Mardaani – This Could Be Rani Mukerji’s Swan Song As An Actor

mardaani mainIt’s hard hitting, it’s controversial and it has power; well we are talking about Rani Mukerji‘s Mardaani that looks promising.

Going by the first trailer of Mardaani, Rani Mukerji is trying hard to look tough and be the part of a cop handling a sensitive case on girl trafficking in India.

Rani Mukerji as Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani reminds you of Rani Mukerji as Meera Gaity in No One Killed Jessica.

Mardaani is about the pressing issue of women trafficking. The trailer opens up with an insight into the dark world of child trafficking and shuffles between Mumbai and Delhi.

Mardaani is grounded to a real life child trafficking racket once operational in Mumbai. From the trailer, it is evident that many of Delhi locales have been used in the background, communicating that the girl Pyaari, for whom Shivani Shivaji Roy gets into action.

Describing the film and Rani Mukerji‘s character, a statement from Yash Raj Films reads: “She is deft at picking up hidden clues and fearless in confronting hardened criminals.”

Mardaani is written by Gopi Puthran and directed by Pradeep Sarkar.
