Trailer Review: Titli – This One Should Be A Must Watch

titli mainThe theatrical trailer of Yash Raj Films Titli, directed by debutant Kanu Behl is out. Set in Delhi, Titli deals with relevant issues and looks very real and emotions.

One cannot forget the fact that Titli will be in competition as part of the Un Certain Regard Section of The 67th Cannes Film Festival, that kicks off today, May 14, 2104.

Titli revolves around the volatile relationship between two brothers – one of whom runs away from home to escape his oppressive family but turns to a life of crime.

Titli, the youngest member of a violent car jacking brotherhood, plots a desperate bid to escape the family business. His struggle to do so is countered at each stage by his indignant brothers, who finally try marrying him off to settle him.

Titli finds an unlikely ally in his new wife, caught though she is in her own web of warped reality and dysfunctional dreams. They form a strange, beneficial partnership, only to confront their inability to escape the bindings of their family roots. But is escape, the same as freedom?

Talking about the film, Kanu Behl said, “Titli is a film about family, roots and the ghosts within our most intimate relationships. It’s an extremely personal film. The journey to the core of the film has been a difficult and exciting one and I’m looking forward to it going out into the world.”

Produced by Dibakar Banerjee and Yash Raj Films, Titli features Ranvir Shorey, Amit Sial and newcomer Shashank Arora in the lead roles.
