South Siren Ileana D’Cruz who starred in the 2006 Telugu hit film Pokiri by Puri Jagannath, is making her debut into the Bollywood with Barfi! opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
Interestingly though, the southern beauty had a golden opportunity to enter Bollywood, much much before Barfi!
Golden – because her debut would have been with Bollywood’s box office King Salman Khan. But unlike other actresses who would lap up this chance to work with Salman in an instant, Ileana said No.
What’s more saddening is that the role was for her own film Pokiri’s Hindi remake titled WANTED. And we all know how well Wanted did at the box office. Surely this would have been a moment for Ileana to shine.
However, the actress feels no regret. She says that she had refused then because she wasn’t prepared well enough to enter Bollywood, but now that she’s ready – Barfi! Is the perfect launch for her, she believes. Of course, added the new entrant to Bollywood – I really would love to work with Salman Khan in the future.
We hope the girl gets a second chance.
