A court in Jodhpur has now reportedly postponed the hearing of Salman Khan’s blackbuck shooting case and possession of illegal weapons, which was scheduled today. The verdict has reportedly been put off till March 3.

Salman Khan along with his co stars Sonali Bendre, Tabu, Neelam, Saif Ali Khan were accused of hunting the protected black buck animal in Rajasthan, while they were shooting for their Hum Saath Saath Hain movie in 1998. He was also charged with illegal possession of weapons during the hunting incident.

The forest department had earlier stated that the license used by the actor for carrying the weapons had been expired, and thus amounted to illegal use of them. But on the counter argument Salman Khan’s lawyers stated that the actor had almost immediately applied for the renewal of the license and was thus not using them illegally. A verdict pertaining the same was to be made today.

Actor Salman Khan had earlier submitted an application requesting exemption from appearing in the court for today’s hearing. Reports suggest that Salman Khan was absent from the hearing in Jodhpur as the actor is currently shooting in the state of Gujarat. If found guilty, Salman Khan will face a jail time between three to seven years which however is bailable at any time.

Salman Khan is currently shooting for Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
