Aamir Khan recently launched the next season of his upcoming reality show Satyamev Jayate, during the launch event Aamir spoke about Rani Mukerji’s latest film Mardaani and mentioned that the film is not for young minds.
Aamir Khan said children should not be exposed to violence and adult content through films.
“Now, I am not talking about Mardaani. I think most absurd and strange things are shown in some films which are U or U/A. I cannot believe how it is shown in the film. I think we should be careful about what we are exposing our children to,” he said.
The censor board awarded an A-certificate to “Mardaani”, which focuses on child trafficking. But Rani is trying to re-certify the film so that children above 12 years of age can view it.
Aamir said: “There are some words in the film that I would not want my children to see. I also feel that very small children should not see this kind of violence. I don’t want an eight-year-old child to see that. That’s what I think.”
“I know Rani may have a different opinion. She is a close friend of mine and I respect her, but I feel the film does have a certain amount of violence,” he said.
Aamir Khan feels that “we have become insensitive towards our children that we show them almost anything.”
I think we have to be much more careful with the kind of violence we are exposing our children to. I have a certain responsibility towards what I am showing to my children. I have to fulfil my responsibility,” said Aamir.
Mardaani which is a gripping film, deals with the sensitive topic of human trafficking will see Rani played the strong headed police office.
