With back to back starry awards show, fans expected that the actor might walk away with most of the awards for Bajrangi Bhaijaan, but younger stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s Bajirao Mastani took the lead every time. But this time, Salman Khan won the Best Actor Popular Choice Award at the Zee Cine Awards 2016, for his performance in Kabir Khan‘s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.

Salman Khan who was asked about the importance of awards in his life, replied saying, “I feel happy when others get an award. Otherwise awards don’t hold much importance in my life. But I like these award functions where the entire industry comes together. We get to meet so many friends who are otherwise busy in their lives. It feels great.”
Expressing his desire on not to be nominated in awards shows, Salman said, “That’s why I say you should delete me from the competition. I don’t want to be nominated in these 4 nominees. I have been here for 25 years and I think it is time to give the younger generation a chance. I can come, attend and perform, but I think the younger generation should get a chance to win the awards. We have to encourage them.”
When the actor was asked about his Bajrangi Bhaijaan being an excellent film, Salman Khan replied saying, “I think there should have been a better film than Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which couldn’t happen. I actually wanted that whatever films release last year should have been better than Bajrangi Bhaijaan because its good for all of us. Its good for me…I work harder…Its good for the industry, the industry prospers.”

On the other hand, Salman Khan was also asked on Aamir Khan‘s film Dangal‘s comparison with his film ‘Sultan’, being the same genre film. To which Salman responded instantly in a very cool style saying, “I am excited for Dangal.” Well, box office king Salman Khan who will be seen as Haryanvi wrestler in his upcoming film ‘Sultan’, is going to be a tough competitor to Aamir Khan as they are coming with same genre films. We wait to see what the two actors have for the audiences this year!
