Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sushmita Sen have been rivals ever since they started their modelling days. Their difficult equations, of course, trace back to the mid-1990’s, when Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai were pitted against each other in the Miss India contest. The cold war began then, and intensified when Sushmita went on to beat favourite contestant Ash to the Miss India crown, and went on to win the Miss Universe title. First runner-up Aishwarya did however do her country proud, when she won the Miss World crown that same year.
Media asked Sushmita at a recent event if she has spoken to Aishwarya in recent times, Sushmita bluntly replied, “I don’t chat with Aishwarya. But we are doing a movie together.”
Will It Be A Happy Anniversary For Aishwarya and Sushmita?
Close on the heels of rumours about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s big comeback to celluloid, comes news that her once-upon-a-time nemesis Sushmita Sen too may be seen in the same film!
After the birth of Beti Bachchan i.e. Aaradhya Bachchan, rumours had been swirling fast and thick that mommy Ash was to make a full-fledged comeback to cinema. Names of filmmakers likeSanjay Leela Bhansali and Karan Johar to helm her comeback film were doing the rounds. But now, the situation is entirely different.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has allegedly shown a lot of interest in starring in the directorial debut of eccentric adman Prahlad Kakkar. The deal will be all the more sweet considering Happy Anniversary may also star her real-life husband Abhishek Bachchan in the male lead.
While the couple are currently scrutinising the script carefully before they give their assent, if Kakkad has his way, there may be yet another explosive addition to the cast, in the form of the sexy and svelte Ms. Sushmita Sen!
According to sources, Prahlad has spoken to the actress and she has loved the part offered to her. Said Kakkad himself confirming the news, “If all goes well, we should have Sushmita in Happy Anniversary. It will be a pleasure to work with her.”
Their long-standing professional rivalry notwithstanding, Aishwarya and Sushmita have no qualms about working together in this film. Said a source, “If both are satisfied with the length and quality of their respective roles, they won’t allow their personal equation to come in the way.”
