MUMBAI: Babel, produced by Summit Entertainment, USA is distributed in India by Essel Group’s E-City Films Pvt. Limited, which is the sole owner of all distribution and syndication rights ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ within India ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ of Babel.
The company has now put all rumours to rest about Brad Pitt’s persence at IFFI 2006 in Goa. An official release mentions, “E-City Films hopes to have Brad PittÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s presence at IFFI 2006 especially since the Brad Pitt ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ Cate Blanchett starrer, Babel, has been invited to be the closing film at this august event by Directorate of Film Festivals, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ the official conveners of IFFI 2006. E-City Films is the sole proprietor of the distribution and syndication of Babel within India while Paramount Vantage, mentioned as the distributor by the Entertainment Society of Goa ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ the main organizers of IFFI 2006, holds market rights for Babel within USA only.”
The release further added that while E-City Films had made a request through Summit Entertainment to Brad PittÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s publicists and agents for his presence at Babel, the closing film at IFFI 2006, there is no news as yet on whether Pitt will actually attend.
“In the event that Brad Pitt decides to confirm his visit to the closing film at IFFI 2006, Babel, only E-City Films will be in a position to confirm his attendance ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ presently any talk of his attending is only speculation,” added the release.
