Anu Malik looks to hit the right notes in 07

MUMBAI: After composing music for Shirish Kunder’s Jaan-E-Mann and J.P Dutta’s Umrao Jaan, Anu Malik is all set to churn out good music next year too. Recently Malik bagged a project with Tips Films, the music of which will be promoted by Tips. The film will go on floors in early 2007.


 


“It is always a delight to work with Ramesh Taurani. At this point I can’t reveal the story of the film but all I can mention is that the film has good scope for my music to outshine,” says Malik.


 


In the past too, Malik and Tips have created hit music with Ken Ghosh’s Ishq Vishq, Khalid Mohamed’s Fiza and Abbas Mastan’s Soldier. Their association goes back to the days of films like Najayaz and Phir Teri Kahaani Yaad Ayee directed by Mahesh Bhatt for which Tips had bought the rights as an audio company.


 


Malik will also be composing music for Anant Mahadevan’s Anamika- The Untold Story, which stars Dino Morea, Minisha Lamba, Koena Mitra and Arti Chabbaria. Commenting on their association Malik says, “Anant has a good ear for music. His previous films have had good music and I am looking forward to working with him.” Anamika- The Untold Story will release in June next year. 


 

Besides these films, Malik has also composed music for Sanjay Gupta’s Woodstock Villa and Harry Baweja’s Love Story 2050, which are also slated to release in 2007.
