MUMBAI: After the success of Eros International and Everest Entertainment’s Marathi co-production Me Shivaji Raje Bhosale Bol Toi, which grossed over $4 million at the box office, the two companies have joined hands for a further four films.
Following on from Me Shivaji Raje Bhosale Bol Toi, Eros will be releasing Patta Cut, a film by Mahesh Manjrekar on 18 September 2009 with Everest. Additionally, the companies are also developing three more Marathi films over the next 12 months.
Me Shivaji Raje Bhosale Bol Toi has got the highest ever collection for a Marathi film release so far.
Everest Entertainment CEO Sanjay Chhabria said, "The audience has loved the film and this combined with the growth in the number of multiplexes and redeveloped screens within India has meant that the film has set a new bench mark for Marati films."
