INcable Net defaults payments of Rs 111 mn to Zee Turner

Mumbai: Channels from Zee Turner bouquet have gone off air in Mumbai due to non-payment by INcable Net to the company.

Zee Turner distributes 33 channels including Ten Sports, Zee Marathi, Zee Talkies, Zee TV, Cartoon Network, Pogo, HBO, Zee Café, Zee Studio, Zee Cinema, amongst others.

INcable Net owes outstanding amounts mounting to Rs 111.60 million (Rs 11.60 crores) as on July 2008 to Zee Turner. As per the order given by TDSAT as on 27 March, Zee Turner had the right to switch off INcable Net if the operator fails to clear its dues. As per an official statement from Zee Turner, INcable Net has continuously disregarded the order and has evaded the payment of subscription fees by defaulting in making the payments.

The statement adds that Zee Turner has made numerous attempts to persuade the network to clear the dues in an amicable manner but the operator has not paid any heed. This has led to the disappearance of the 33 national and regional channels in Mumbai.

Apparently, post this INcable Net has switched off the Zee Turner channels in other markets in order to avoid payments. The statement adds that Zee Turner would be looking at taking steps against the operator in other cities as well.
