Mumbai: PVR Pictures is all set to release Johnny Depp’s The Rum Diary in India. The release date of the movie has not yet been finalized.
Depp is set to the cast of gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson’s upcoming movie The Rum Diary. The motion picture based on the debut novel by Hunter S. Thompson who is credited to be the creator of Gonzo journalism, a style of reporting where reporters involve themselves in the action to a degree that they become central figures of their stories.
Paul Kemp played by Depp is a freelance journalist who finds himself at a turning point in his life while writing for a run-down newspaper in the Caribbean. Paul is challenged on many levels as he tries to carve out a more secure niche for himself, amidst a group of lost souls all bent on self-destruction.
