MUMBAI: Debutant director Siddharth Malhotra’s forthcoming film, We Are Family, produced by Dharma Productions was completed in just 63 shifts.
We Are Family stars Kajol, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal along with three child artists and is a remake of the Hollywood flick Stepmom.
The interesting fact is that this was one unit that did not work on Sundays and only had 9 am to 6 pm shifts.
Even though most of the film was shot in Sydney where the child artists are not allowed to work more than four hours a day, the Sydney schedule which was actually a twenty-eight day schedule was completed in just 20 days.
Speaking exclusively to Businessofcinema.com, Malhotra said, “Being a television producer myself, I know how much money is wasted if things are not planned properly. I have been lucky to have a very efficient production team and we always had a plan B ready just in case anything went wrong. My actors have also been a blessing because they’ve always come to sets on time. I somehow feel that my late grandmother, my grandfather and my father-in-law are watching me from above.”
