Box Office: Rajinikanth’s Kabali Vs Irrfan Khan’s Madaari First Weekend Collection

The last two Rajini starrer films did not do well at the box office but with massive worldwide release, Rajini is back with his super hit spree. The Hindi version of the film ‘Kabali’ is also doing well.

Irrfan Khan’s film ‘Madaari’ which is highly appreciated for its concept and plot has not been too well in terms of collections. Though the film has received positive reviews it is not a mass entertainer. ‘Kabali’ was promoted drastically and ‘Madaari’ lacked the recall value. ‘Madaari’ is based on the system of the country and its people. The film is a thought-provoking one which has limited target audience.

The first weekend collection of ‘Kabali’ day wise is Rs.3.50 crore net approx. on Friday, Rs.4.50 crore net approx. on Saturday and Rs.5.25 crore net approx. on Sunday. The total first weekend collection of the Rajinikanth starrer comes to Rs.13.25 crore net approx.

The total amount of ‘Kabali’ is very good in the Hindi market. The movie has done good business in the metropolitan cities like Mumbai.

The Irrfan Khan starrer film ‘Madaari’ on its first weekend earned Rs. 1.75 crore net approx. on Friday, Rs.2.75 crore net approx. on Saturday and Rs.3.50 crore net approx. on Sunday. The total first weekend collection comes to Rs.8 crore net approx.

‘Madaari’ has lost most of its collection to ‘Kabali’. Rajinikanth’s film has also done well in the overseas and the Irrfan Khan starrer is not garnering many crowds at the screens![/tps_footer]
