Born in Delhi, Sidharth was literally your average boy-next-door. Like many youngsters all over the country, Sidharth too harboured secret dreams of one day being a movie star. No wonder then, that after completing his schooling from Delhi’s posh St. Xavier’s School, Sidharth appeared in several commercials in college.
Sidharth’s serious modelling work, though, began when he was snapped up for Roberto Cavalli’s ad campaigns. Once his mug (and hot body, might we add) began appearing on the front pages of magazines like RedBook, Gladrags and Men’s Health, there was no stopping him.
His foray into films began, unconventionally enough, when he turned A.D. for Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan. The Assistant-Director route is one usually taken by aspiring star kids, or in-the-making filmmakers: it is virtually unheard of that an aspiring outsider takes the A.D. route to stardom.
But Sidharth has always been the unconventional one. Since his smashing debut in 2012, in mentor Karan Johar’s Student of The Year, Sidharth has received rave reviews for his unusual good looks, and his unorthodox acting style. What Sidharth is to Bollywood, is actually a breath of fresh air. He is completely different from every kind of newbie and star kid there is on the block.
Sidharth is restrained, he is mature, he is self-assured. He speaks volumes through his eyes. He is handsome, yes, but in a most disarming, indirect way. He is an earnest actor, a sincere performer. And it is this earnestness and sincerity that has won him legions of fans, since his big debut.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIDHARTH MALHOTRA:
Naturally, post the release of Student of the Year, Sidharth along with his co-stars Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, were everywhere. He has signed on a multitude of brand endorsements, and new films. Sidharth will be next seen in Hasee Toh Phasee, which releases in February this year. Post that, Sidharth has Mohit Suri’s, The Villain lined up.
Here’s wishing the handsome, sincere, dedicated and inspiring newcomer Sidharth Malhotra a very happy birthday![/tps_footer]
