MUMBAI: Bollywood’s young ‘student’ Varun Dhawan was spotted sharing a casual vibe, at the Sunburn awards held in the city, over the weekend.

Varun looked the typical chocolate boy hero that he is, in a casual white tee which read ‘Rock Tour 1978’ and a pair of light grey stone washed jeans. Missing from his side were his ‘Student of The Year’ co-stars Alia and Siddharth, who usually come as a package deal to any event.

Varun is busy getting in shape for his next film, an action adventure titled ‘Main Tera Hero’, which will be produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by his dad, David Dhawan.

Said Varun, “I’ve been doing a lot of mixed martial arts training and light weight training. My trainer Prashant, who also trains Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn, has put me on a completely new diet and workout regime.”

The young actor adds that his new look is supposed to be very deceptive. “If you see me with a T-shirt on, you won’t think I am fit. That’s the whole point of it,” he adds, with a mischievous smile.

Varun, a firm believer in hard work, plans to go the whole hog for this film, minus body doubles. “I’ve been training to get more flexible as well. I don’t want to use a body double. I want to do it myself because I’ve always enjoyed action. It’s a complete change from my first film, even though I play a college student this time as well.”

Also seen at the Sunburn awards night were cricket legend Kapil Dev, Percept Media CEO Shailendra Singh, actress Suchitra Pillai, socialite Queenie Dhody and fashion designer Rocky S.
