Bombay Velvet director Anurag Kashyap had shared a prank, which became headlines all over. The filmmaker posted a picture of him with his right eye plastered, and of course media believed it!
In the picture, Anurag Kashyap appeared like sad and a badly hurt person. The picture he shared on Instagram was captioned as, “Now they put a plaster, this is what happens when you get into a brawl with a MMA fighter.”
People started believing that the director has been hurt in real, and that it started becoming the news for the day. But little did we know, that the entire situation was a prank and bet played by Anurag Kashyap.
Later he clarified the whole issue by tweeting that how images were actually a prank and bet that would make news. He tweeted saying, “one Instagram picture of prosthetics test for the eye, with a random line, becomes news without crosschecking. point proven, won the bet.”

Well, Anurag Kashyap’s bruised eye was just a costume experiment which became news in a short span.
Anurag Kashyap’s last film Bombay Velvet, based on historian Gyan Prakash’s book Mumbai Fables, was poor at the Box Office. The film didn’t do well as it was expected at the Box Office, and he had to suffer major losses. Well, failure is part of any profession, and that it is never final. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, Bombay Velvet was criticized all over on the social networking sites.
On the other hand, Anurag Kashyap has been invited to be a part of the Busan Film Festival’s jury, which will start from October 1-10th in Busan, South Korea.
