Ranveer Singh Gets Into Controversy With PETA Over His New Commercial

Ranveer-SharkRanveer Singh’s recent advertisement surely grabbed a lot of attention. Actor’s rap and his stud look in the advertisement grabbed a lot of compliments but also attracted a lot of negative reactions too. In the advertisement, we saw Ranveer Singh diving into an ocean to save a girl from a shark. The actor saved the girl but was seen beating up the shark to show his masculinity and power. This scene got People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) furious.

The animal rights organization raised questions and showed their concers and planned on taking the matter further by writing to the actor, Ranveer Singh and the brand. On Wednesday, in a statement issued, Poorva Joshipura, PETA India CEO said, “PETA will be writing to Rupa Frontline and Ranveer Singh to share our concerns on behalf of sharks and today’s socially aware youth.”

The animal rights organization also disapproved the gesture of using an animal to woo someone. PETA went further by saying that there’s nothing se*y about pretending to beat up an animal, and nothing that may disgust a girl more.

However, the brand’s spokesperson, Mukesh Agarwal, whole-time director said that the visuals in that commercial were not intended to offend anyone and soon a disclaimer would be attached to the commercial. He also said that the shark shown in the commercial is a rubber toy and no animal was used in the shoot.
