Salman Khan Hit And Run Case: Court Rejects Actor’s Plea To Ban Media During Recording Of Statement

Salman-Khan-Hit-And-RunAs we reported that Salman Khan’s statement for hit and run case would be recorded today. The actor who is present in the court since morning 11 a.m moved an application to ban media during the recording of his statement.

Judge D.W Deshpande rejected the plea but directed the media to report only after the recording of Salman Khan’s entire statement is completed.

The judge also directed the media to refrain from opinionating in the matter, or dwelling merits and demerits of the case. The actor reached the Mumbai Session court at 11 a.m. to record his statement.

Salman Khan’s statement would be recorded under section 313 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The actor would be allowed to tell everything he wants to in defence of him as the case is at the fag end of the trial.

Once Salman records his statement, he would also get an opportunity to cross examine defence witnesses if he wants to.

Salman had liquor before his car met with accident in suburban Bandra on September 28, 2002, killing one person and injuring four.

The actor has denied that he was on the wheel during the accident in 2002. If convicted, he could spend up to 10 years in prison.
