MUMBAI: Producer Vishesh Bhatt’s first directorial venture ‘Murder 3’ under his Vishesh Films banner, featuring Randeep Hooda, Aditi Rao Hydari and Pakistani actress Sara Loren, has taken a dull opening at the box office.

The film, written by Mahesh Bhatt and touted to be an official remake of ‘The Hidden Face’, released on 15 February. With lousy reviews across the board SEE REVIEW, ‘Murder 3’ managed to garner only about Rs 39.2 million (Rs 3.92 crore net) on its first day. This is drastic fall from the Bhatt camp’s previous installment from the ‘Murder’ franchise, with ‘Murder 2’ having collected approximately Rs 71 million (Rs 7.1 crore) net on its first day SEE REPORT.

Day 2 Saturday, brought bleaker news with a reduction in collections, rather than a rise that usually follows on the weekends. On Saturday ‘Murder 3’ collected in the range of Rs 34.5 million (Rs 3.45 crore) net. The estimates for Sunday provide some respite, however the overall poor trend does not offer very high hopes for the first week of ‘Murder 3’.
