Bollywood film ‘Shaandaar’ starring Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor has performed poorly on its second day at the box office. The film that opened quite well has seen a huge fall in its Friday collection which was predicted to be unavoidable. The film collected 7.25 crores net approx (72.5 million) on Friday which was almost 45% less than its opening day collection. The scope for ‘Shaandaar’ in the coming weekend is very little due to this crash.
‘Shaandaar’ that released on the occasion of Dussehra, managed to collect only Rs. 11 crores net approx (110 million) on its first day. The number was quite low from the expectations given the fact that it had an advantage of an important holiday to pull crowd. So after the second day collection, the total stands at around 19 crores net approx (190 million). The film has faced downfall in the metro cities where it was performing really well on opening day.

Saturday and Sunday might prove to be better for the film expecting it to touch the 35 crore mark after its four day run at the box office. If that happens then it is the best case scenario for the film, if not then it would be a sorry state of affair for the film. Shaandaar’s Saturday performance will decide whether the film experiences further dip or climbs little higher. The metro collections might see improvement as yesterday was a working day, and the weekend begins from Saturday morning.
‘Shaandaar’ is a romantic comedy film which sees a rich family going abroad for their daughter’s wedding. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead, the film is directed by Vikas Bahl who is still enjoying the legacy of his film ‘Queen’ which was a huge blockbuster. The film also stars actors Sanjay Kapoor, Pankaj Kapoor and also a special appearance by Karan Johar. After this crash, we’re now waiting to see Shaandaar’s first weekend collection at the box office.
