Box Office: Arshad Warsi’s Welcome 2 Karachi Day One Collections

Welcome-To-KarachiBollywood actor Arshad Warsi’s first film of the year Welcome 2 Karachi released on May 29, Friday and the film opened to a poor start. The comedy action drama did a very low business on its first day at the Box Office. Welcome 2 Karachi managed to mint Rs. 1.35 crore net (13.5 million) approximately on its first day at the Box Office. This doesn’t look good for director Ashish R Mohan’s film. Now with a poor start like this, very less is expected from the film.

Welcome To Karachi, which also stars Jackky Bhagnani and Lauren Gottlieb caught people’s attention with their trailer and songs, however, on its first day, the film failed to pull in the crowd and saw very less footfalls. Compared to parts like Delhi, East Punjab, Rajasthan and West Bengal, the film did a good business in Mumbai. In Mumbai itself, Welcome 2 Karachi grossed Rs. 45 lakhs net (4.5 million) approximately. The film tells a story of two guys from India, Kedar, who wants to settle down in America and his friend, Shammi, an ex-Navy officer. Things get interesting when both of them set out for America but end up in Karachi instead.

Those who watched the film only have good words to say about it, so we can expect to see some progress in Welcome 2 Karachi’s business at the Box Office as soon as the word of mouth gets around. Maybe the reason behind film’s low business could be the fact that it doesn’t feature big names from Bollywood. The only main attraction of the film is actor Arshad Warsi and his performance in Welcome 2 Karachi is nonetheless delightful to watch. Now let’s see if the film picks up speed at the Box Office the coming weekend or hits the ground.
