MUMBAI: Not just domestically, but the SRK-Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Chennai Express’ is creating waves all over the world, going by the opening weekend box office collections.

The Rohit Shetty directorial, produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Red Chillies Entertainment, has broken quite a few records overseas as well. The International box office is singing to the tunes of ‘Chennai Express’.

Big markets like U.S.A, U.K and the Gulf saw big business for ‘Chennai Express’, with figures in the range of $2.5 million (U.S), above $1 million (U.K) and $2 million (Gulf).

The film opened in U.K with the highest figures for a Hindi movie, at GBP 267,319 (or Rs. 2.56 crore). The U.S reported collections in the range of $700,000 (approximately Rs. 4.2 crore). This is huge, considering Friday was a full working day and not a holiday in US and U.K.
