MUMBAI: Released on 21st December, 2012, Salman Khan’s latest film ‘Dabangg 2’ has once again proved which tiger roars mighty at the ticket windows. Also featuring Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz Khan, Malaika Arora Khan, Vinod Khanna, Prakash Raj, and Deepak Dobriyal, the film officially falls in the category of a blockbuster.

‘Dabangg 2’ did a phenomenal business of close to Rs 210 million (Rs 21 crore) net on Day 1 – a non holiday. This is only second to that other big super-hit of Salman Khan: ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ which had raked in a bumper Rs 320 million (Rs 32 crore) on opening day. To be fair, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ did release on a big holiday, and the gap in margin can be attributed to this fact.

By it sixth day, ‘Dabangg 2’ had well crossed the Rs 1 billion (Rs 100 crore) net mark. Incidentally this milestone was crossed on Salman Khan’s birthday which may have worked out as quite a gift for the actor. The total first week collections of the film were in the range of Rs 1.08 billion (Rs 108 crore) net.

In its second week ‘Dabangg 2’ garnered approximately Rs 360 million (Rs 36 crore) net. The two-week total was pegged at a whopping Rs 1.44 billion (Rs 144 crore) net.

Including the third weekend figure of Rs 80 million (Rs 8 crore) net the film has officially crossed the 150 crore mark.
