The much hyped film ‘Hero’ has finally hit the theaters. The new entrants Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty have made a smooth entry into the tinsel town with their debut film ‘Hero’. Co-produced by Salman Khan ‘Hero’ had a good start at the box office on the first day of its release i.e. September 11th Friday. The occupancy rate for the film was 30% on average.
Though the film had a decent occupancy rate on the first day, collection wise the movie ‘Hero’ did not do well. Given its back to back promotional activities and strategies the movie could have done better but failed to impress. ‘Hero’ on its first day of release managed to collect Rs. 6.50 crore (65 million) net approx. However the figures are not that bad as the stars are debutantes.
The collection on the first day was not impressive and paved a tough weekend ahead too. ‘Hero’ on its second day of release i.e. on Saturday managed to earn Rs. 6.25 crore (62.5 million) net approx. With a minor difference from its first day collection ‘Hero’ earned smoothly on Saturday as well, nevertheless, it surely had to strive hard to surpass the weekend successfully.
‘Hero’s two day collection on the box office comes to Rs. 12.75 crore (127.5 million) net approx. the collection is decent enough to make it strive through the weekdays. Coming to its Sunday collection, the movie got a good earning as compared to Friday and Saturday. The film earned Rs. 7.50 crore ( 75 million) net approx. on Sunday. The total weekend collection of ‘Hero’ is Rs. 20.50 crore ( 205 million) net approx.
The movie has paved a good way for the weekday, earning a benchmark of Rs.20.50 crore net approx. Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty starrer film ‘Hero’ was much awaited by the audience due to its healthy promotional activities and Salman Khan’s presence. However, the film did not seem to reflect the same in its box office collections.
After a gradual weekend collection, ‘Hero’ has to strive hard to maintain itself at the box office on the weekdays.
