Tokyo press recently experienced a quirky side of actor Johnny Depp, when the actor missed out a press conference attended by 200 journalists in the city, scheduled on January 27, 2015, and cited a strange reason for the no show just a day after! The Pirates of the Caribbean actor blamed his absence on a mythological Latin American beast called Chupacabra. He said that it had somehow come into his suitcase and he threw it out from the 23rd floor! Of course this was a joke that the 51 years old actor played to cover up a cold, because of which his health was suffering!

Depp had been in Japan to promote Mortdecai, his recent action-packed release co-starring Gwyneth Paltrow. The film was released by Lionsgate Entertainment Corporation on January 23, 2015 and the opening week garnered negative reviews along with shocking box office collections. The film has reportedly made only $9.3 million worldwide over the weekend, on an estimated budget of $60 million! This by far is the worst opening for a Johnny Depp film in the last 15 years and this is his fifth consecutive flop.
The film will release in Japan in February 6, 2015.
