The first official trailer of the critically acclaimed film Lila & Eve is finally out and from what we see, this one’s definitely worth the wait. Starring two of Hollywood’s biggest names, actresses Jennifer Lopez and Viola Davis show the other side of a mother who can go to any extent to seek justice for her son. The film shows the dark side of street crime in America where every other day a precious life is lost.
The trailer takes us through the journey of a mother named Lila Walcott (Viola Davis) who loses her son Stephon when he is murdered in cold blood by street thugs. After joining a support group for mothers’ who lost their child, Lila meets Eve (Jennifer Lopez) who recently lost her daughter. When Lila cannot seek justice for her child’s death through law, Eve suggests she should seek justice on her own terms by finding the killers herself. And thus begins the journey of two mothers who discover a whole another world full of criminals and danger that they never thought they would enter.
Directed by Charles Stones III, Lila & Eve has been produced by Sara Risher and Darrin Reed. Patrick Gilfillan has penned the story of the movie and the music has been given by Samuel Jones and Alexis Marsh. Other than Viola Davis who was nominated for Oscar for her role in the film The Help and Golden Globe nominee Jennifer Lopez, the film also stars actors Shea Whigham, Julius Tennon, Lisa Maffia, Chris Chalk an Andre Royo amongst others. Lila & Eve that was premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January is all set to hit theaters on July 17.
