MUMBAI: Inlet Technologies is supporting ZillionTV Corporation’s distribution of high quality personalized television.
The ZillionTV Service utilizes Inlet’s Armada automated encoding workflow management platform as its backend encoding infrastructure to support the encoding handled by ZillionTV’s third-party encoding company partners.
Armada helps ZillionTV’s encoding partners to quickly and efficiently transcode large volumes of content from a variety of sources into multiple digital media formats. Armada also ensures that the end result meets high quality standards demanded by ZillionTV, as well as viewers who will be watching the content on their television sets via specialized devices.
The ZillionTV Service is a first-of-its-kind personalized television platform that puts consumers in control, providing instant, subscription-free access to an extensive entertainment library of new and classic TV shows, movies, sports, music and more from Hollywood studios and TV networks – all on-demand and delivered directly to the television set. All that’s required to start watching is a common high-speed Internet connection, the ZillionTV Device and innovative motion sensing ZillionTV Remote Control, and a TV.
"We needed an encoding partner that really understands how to build a business around digital content, and an encoding technology that could scale to meet our quality thresholds in coordination with our third-party encoding partners. Inlet Technologies is recognized for their industry expertise, and Armada was an ideal solution for our needs," explained ZillionTV senior vice president, digital entertainment Charles Cataldo.
"The ZillionTV Service is an innovative new media platform and is an excellent example of what Armada was designed to serve. Transcoding the highest quality video quickly and efficiently is essential to such business models that offer viewers lots of compelling, high quality content. The scalability provided by Armada enables companies like ZillionTV to meet the broad demands of the consumer today, while monetizing digital content in a profitable way," said Inlet CEO and founder Neal Page.
