Righteous Kill inspires game by Merscom

Mumbai: Al Pacino-Robert De Niro starrer Righteous Kill that is awaiting a September 12 theatrical release has now inspired a game by Merscom. The company has announced Righteous Kill: The Game, inspired by the film.

Righteous Kill stars De Niro and Pacino as two veteran New York City detectives who are on the trail of a vigilante serial killer. The game centres around Officer Erica Dean as she tries to determine who is killing criminals known for committing crimes against women.

Players can simply step into the shoes of Officer Dean and, with the help of Sergeant Vasquez, make their way through 16 different crime scenes that have more than a thousand objects. As they move ahead with every clue they collect and piece together, players come closer to unmasking the murderer.

"This game is perfect for the casual games audience," said Merscom chief customer officer Lloyd Melnick in a press brief. "We’re very excited about this game and its release so close to the movie’s theatrical release," said Starz Media senior vice president – digital media, business development and strategy Marc DeBevoise, which handles digital and on-demand distribution of Overture’s releases. "We see this as a unique opportunity for the movie and causal game audiences to cross-over and cross-promote to each other."
