Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing & Distribution names Pavlic as SVP

MUMBAI: Michael Pavlic has rejoined Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing and Distribution as senior vice president of creative advertising.

Pavlic will report to president of worldwide creative advertising Tommy Gargotta.

In his role, Pavlic will oversee the creative advertising campaigns, including theatrical trailers, television and radio spots, and in-theater and outdoor print advertising for several of Columbia Pictures’ upcoming releases, such as The Green Hornet, starring Seth Rogen, Battle: Los Angeles, and the forthcoming CGI animated motion picture Hotel Transylvania from Sony Pictures Animation.

Gargotta said, "I’m thrilled to have Michael back at Sony. We’ve worked together on so many campaigns over the past four years, it seems like he never left. He’s an extraordinarily talented editor and producer who works tirelessly and gets along great with our film makers and has earned the respect of the studio leadership. Michael’s the perfect addition to the creative advertising team."

Pavlic most recently served as producer/editor at Big Picture Entertainment, where he conceived and executed marketing materials for films like Paul Blart: Mall Cop, two Pirates of the Caribbean films, Open Season, and The Benchwarmers.

Prior to that, from 2003 through 2005, Pavlic served as manager, creative advertising at Sony Pictures, where he helped produce advertising campaigns for Hitch, The Grudge, Something’s Gotta Give, and Once Upon a Time in Mexico, among other films.
