MUMBAI: Ekta Kapoor and Milan Luthria would have expected that with a star cast like Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Imran Khan, ‘Once Upon A Time In Dobaara’ will strike a chord with audiences. Sadly the audiences have given a cold shoulder to the two trailers that have released.
Even Imran Khan’s ode to Rishi Kapoor and the ‘Tayyab Ali’ number has failed to bring some respite to Ekta Kapoor, Balaji Motion Pictures and Milan Luthria.
With audiences giving a lukewarm response to ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’, which is set to release on Independence Day, Ekta Kapoor and her team has taken quick action.
The latest buzz is that Ekta Kapoor has planned to incorporate a new song in the film and asked Pritam, the music composer of ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ to compose the same. For the song to fit aptly in the film, an additional scene is being written and the actors will shoot it in a few days.
But looks like, this move is set to make a big hole in Balaji’s wallet. Reportedly, Ekta Kapoor is spending close to Rs 3 crore for the new song and towards its marketing.
She wants to ensure that the move does not backfire and that the film with the changes releases as scheduled on 15 August.
Earlier, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ had its release shifted by a week as a goodwill gesture for ‘Chennai Express’ and also avoiding eating into each other’s business. But now with audiences not quite being upbeat about the Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Imran Khan starrer, will it be an express run for ‘Chennai Express’?
