MUMBAI: The first look of Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film – ‘Highway’ – is out now. A typical road movie that will showcase the beauty and variety of six Indian states Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Kashmir, the film stars Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda in leading roles.
The first look features the petite and pretty Alia Bhatt plonked in the middle of the highway, looking tired and exhausted. Dressed in a simple tomboyish maroon and purple tee, and a pair of faded brown slacks, Alia’s pretty feet are adorned with sandals and her hair is loose. One can see a truck in the background, as is a customary sight on most Indian highways.
Says Sajid Nadiadwala, producer and exhibitor of ‘Highway’, “Come to think of it, it was only last December that we agreed to go ahead with the film. And to start the shoot in March and then stick to the schedules despite being such a tough shoot is quite incredible!”
The usually reticent Imtiaz, famous for his superhits like ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Love Aaj Kal’, managed to whet our appetites by saying, “There’s a story in you for years, a world you can’t wait to get into – that’s ‘Highway’.”
The music will be given by music maestro A.R Rahman. ‘Highway’ is all set to screech into theatres on 13 December, 2013.
