The film sees Mohanlal trying to date more than one airhostess with the help of his friend played by actor Mukesh. The Hindi film Garam Masala released in 2005, directed by Priyadarshan himself saw Akshay Kumar and John Abraham in the lead roles.Mohan-Lal-BirthdayThalavattam – Kyon Ki: Priyadarshan directed Thalavattam released in the year 1986 starring Mohanlal, Nedumudi Venu and Karthika amongst others. The film was about a mentally ill person played by Mohanlal who is hospitalized after his girlfriend dies in an accident, but later falls in love with the doctor of the same asylum. The story revolves around a married couple that moves into an ancient mansion, which is believed to be haunted. The original cast included Mohanlal, Meena and Asha Sarath amongst others.
