Juhi Chawla: Nobody Knew Aamir Khan During Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak

Bollywood’s most versatile actress Juhi Chawla who made her film debut in Sultanat (1986), and received wider public recognition with the highly successful tragic romance Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak with Aamir Khan has completed more than 25 years in the film industry.

Celebrating 25 years in Bollywood industry, Juhi Chawla feels nostalgic over it, as she never thought that she would go so far in this industry. The actress said, “My journey has been wonderfully long. And today, I am amazed that I am still around, relevant and visible, which I never even imagined 25 years ago.

“I just had no clue that I would be around for so long. I am really grateful and happy for this. So overall, my journey has been very eventful, and I am very glad that I have been in the industry.”

With her last film Gulab Gang with Madhuri Dixit, the actress has no mood to party with any Bollywood celebrities as she thinks she will stay more in Bollywood and party after next twenty-five years. “I have really not thought of celebrating anything,” she said.

Sharing one of the wonderful moment, Juhi Chawal said “after her debut film Sultanat (1986) I got Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and was very happy as I got chance to be part of Bollywood. I had no idea how the industry runs as I didn’t belong from this industry.”

Adding further she said, “I grew up watching Nassir Hussain’s films and was happy that he signed me but when I asked to people they suggested me that she is working with someone who had three flop films earlier.

“They also asked who is the hero of the film as nobody knew Aamir Khan. But I signed the film and got selected after my screen-test and see where I am now.”

After appearing in art films and occasionally playing supporting roles and guest appearances throughout the decade, Chawla made a full-fledged comeback in 2014 with the heavily hyped woman-centric Gulab Gang alongside her once arch rival Madhuri Dixit.

She will now be seen as a teacher in upcoming educational drama Chalk N Duster. Well, we can’t wait to see what more Juhi Chawla brings for audiences after 25 her magnificent years in Bollywood.
