Shahid Kapoor is likely to be roped in for Udta Punjab, a sci-fi film, to be directed by Abhishek Chaubey.
“I am working on my next film and have written the script but it is too early to talk about it. I have met Shahid and we are figuring out things. Shahid is busy, dates are not locked yet but it is too early to talk anything about the film,” so said Abhishek Chaubey, who has directed films like Ishqiya and Dedh Ishqiya.
Currently, Abhishek is busy scripting the film and has been travelling a lot to Punjab. His previous two films were produced by Vishal Bhardwaj. But this time, Udta Punjab would be produced by Phantom Films.
Replying to a query about Udta Punjab going to floors this year, Abhishek Chaubey said, “I don’t know how and when it will happen. I think it will be right for the producers to talk about it.”
It is reported that filmmakers have decided to approach actress Priyanka Chopra for the female lead though nothing is confirmed as yet.
Shahid Kapoor on the other hand is busy with Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider and his upcoming concert in London where he would be setting the stage on fire with Sonakshi Sinha who his is rumoured to be dating.
