MUMBAI: Director Madhur Bhandarkar, who is known for making films on real life incidents is spending time in Delhi these days. The reason: he has set his eyes on the fashion world and is planning a film on the subject. The film titled Fashion will be produced by UTV and is a Rs 100 million (Rs 10 crore) venture.
Bhandarkar says, “My next film is going to be on the fashion world and will be called Fashion. It will be about relationships using the fashion industry as a backdrop. However, the film will also show the darker side of the industry. We are currently working on the script. Ajay Monga and Rohini Sharma are penning it. We will commence shooting after Traffic Signal.”
The director is also planning a sequel to Chandni Bar, which was a Rs 20 million (Rs. 2 crore) project was released in 2001. It starred Tabu and Atul Kulkarni in lead roles. “The budget of the second part will be three to four times more than that of the first,” Bhandarkar adds.
