MUMBAI: Rituparna Sengupta, who has conquered hearts in her home town
“I’m so delighted working with the hit combo of Chandni Bar, Atul and R Mohanji. It’s a very challenging role and I’m looking forward to the release of the film. I am also looking forward to director Manish Gupta’s Saab Chai Paani cast opposite Sonu Sood, which is remake of the hard hitting Ardh Satya,” says Sengupta.
“Manish is very talented and doesn’t compromise on the quality of shots. He is energetic and efficient and Sonu is such a dedicated actor but unfortunately I didn’t get to work with Om Puri in the film. I really admire his work,†she adds.
She will also be seen in Ujjwal Chatterjee’s film based on a Rabindranath Tagore’s novel, starring opposite Ashmit Patel, Jackie Shroff and Anuj Shawney.
Apart from this she also has an English film Hidden in her kitty and will be starring opposite British stage actors Samuel Risby, Stuart Parker and Akshay Walker.
“I have acted in a lot of Bengali films with internationally acclaimed directors like Aparna Sen, Rituparno Ghosh, Buddhadeb Dasgupta and Sandip Ray. I want transcend boundaries as an actress. I want to create a niche in both commercial and art films. In fact it’s fun to do the song and dance routine,†she says.
