First Indian 3D animated film in 2008

MUMBAI: Media Factory India’s animated film Magik, will be the first 3-D character-generated animated film to be totally made in India. The movie made on a budget of $5 million, revolves around five characters, all children.


Media Factory is working on this film for the last two years at its studios in Mumbai.


“Media Factory is the only animation studio in India, which also provides holistic content. The first fully made 3-D animated film Magik would be ready for release by 2008 and is currently at the production stage,” says Media Factory India managing director Aashish Chanana says.


The media house has also recently provided special effects for two Hollywood movies and is working on another project, where it is creating an alien in the form of a Lizard Man, similar to the creature created for Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park.


Media Factory is also doing the special effects for a B R Chopra film, Bhootnath, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, and for another ad film starring Sanjay Dutt.
