The whole controversial drama surrounding the release of “The Interview” finally comes to an end. Initially, Sony called off the release of “The Interview” after their system was hacked by Guardian of Peace (GOP) and threats were made against five largest national movie theater chains. Finally Sony made an announcement that “The Interview”, which is said to be a controversial film, will be released on Christmas’s eve after all, mostly in fewer the 100 indie theaters.
Sony made this decision after having a conference call with their distribution execs. Now several of the theatre chain owners are putting up the big news on social media. One of them is Brock, director of programming at KC-based B&B Theatres, which has 408 screens in eight states, said, “We just got a call, our film buyers did. Sony will be playing it on VOD and letting anyone play it who wants it.”

“We have never given up on releasing “The Interview”, and we’re excited our movie will be in a number of theaters on Christmas Day,” Michael Lynton, CEO of Sony Entertainment, says in a statement. “At the same time, we are continuing our efforts to secure more platforms and more theaters so that this movie reaches the largest possible audience.”
Lynton went further on to thank Sony employees and those involved in the making of “The Interview”. “The Interview” is a comedy film, starring actors Seth Rogen and James Franco, and which features an assassination plot against North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
