MUMBAI: Preeti Jhangiani has been signed on to perform an item number in a Sindhi film.
The film, titled as Pyar Kare Dis: Feel The Power of Love, is directed by Kamal D Nathani (who directed her in With Love…Tumhara), and is produced by M Harwani, a Denmark-based producer, who had earlier made Pyar Ka Tarana with Dev Anand.
Jhangiani’s last few films like Sauda – The Deal, Chand Ke Paar Chalo, Jaane Hoga Kya and With Love…Tumhara did not fare well at the box-office. Currently, she is essaying a role in the remake of Victoria No 203.
Says Nathani, “Pyar Kare Dis: Feel The Power Of Love is a wholesome family entertainer and portrays the realities the communities are facing today. It is the journey of a non-resident Indian girl, who finds love in her country of origin. Preeti Jhangiani has done an item number which is an integral part towards the climax. We have shot the film within 18-days and are readying it for a theatrical release in August 2007.”
The film stars Jiten Lalwani, Menka Lalwani, Vishal Vatwani, Mehak Bhatia, Gunjan Tharwani, Neeru Asrani, Jaya Asrani, Seema Motwani, Prakash Ramchandani, Mayuri Raghani and S C Makhija. Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh with Shaan, Roopkumar Rathod, Richa Sharma, Shilpa Vaswani and Sada Thakur have rendered the songs, composed by Ghanshyam Vaswani.
