MUMBAI: Director Sagar Ballary’s low budget film Bheja Fry has emerged as the surprise hit of 2007, completing 50 days this Friday.
The film, after a modest opening, has picked up well, catching the fancy of the common man. Made on a budget of Rs 60,00,000, the film has collected Rs 120 million (Rs 12 crores) theatrically and is still going strong. While the collections continue to come in from the ticket windows, the DVD sales are expected to be huge too. Additionally, the satellite re-runs are going to ensure a steady flow of income for the film.
Bheja Fry stars Vinay Pathak as the central protagonist along with Rajat Kapoor, Ranvir Shorey, Sarika and Milind Soman.
