MUMBAI: Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision has forayed into the South Indian film production business with a Tamil film.
The Tamil film titled Chakkara Viyugam is directed by Maheshwaran and stars Nataraj, Pooja, Jaya Surya, Ramesh and Bose in lead roles.
Chakkara Viyugam has music by Karthik Raja. The release date of the film has not been decided upon.
Until now the company has been active on the Hindi film production, distribution and exhibition front. Some of the Hindi films that the company has produced and released are Agni Pankh, Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, Bhagam Bhag, Funtoosh and Golmaal – Fun Unlimited. Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision has distributed films like Main Hoon Na, Aitraaz, Garv, Asambhav, Fida, Rakht, Insaan, Paheli, Apahran, Anjaane, Family, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Dus, Phir Hera Pheri, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, Tom Dick and Harry and Jaan-e-Mann amongst others.
The company started exhibiting films in collaboration with the theatres like Meghdoot (Vashi) and Diamond (Borivali). The company is also looking at acquiring theatres across India and abroad.
