Salman Khan’s 13-year-old case of 2002 hit and run may finally come to an end. The court today announced that final verdict date of 2002 hit-and-run case would be announced on April 20, 2015.

According to reports, Session judge D W Deshpande will decide on Monday the date of the judgment. Salman Khan’s lawyer Srikant Shivade said he needs more time for the case.
Session court is conducting fresh trial after the earlier magistrate court upgraded the charges. This week number of pleas has been kept in front of the court from defence lawyer saying that the cause of the accident was due to tyre burst with driver behind the wheel.
The lawyer denied the prosecution’s case that the injured victims were removed first and then the car was lifted by the crane. He said, “If police say the vehicle was speeding at 90 km/hr then how the bumper of the car was intact and was not damaged after mishap,”
In reference to the evidence of the witnesses, the lawyer Srikant Shivade argued that no blood strains were found on the tyre of the car. The car had fallen on them when it was being lifted with the help of crane. The bumper was also intact and was removed after the car was lifted.
He also said people were sleeping on the stairs of the shop if they were hit by the car, blood strains would have been on the stairs. The people were sleeping on the stairs of the shop and no bloodstains were found on the stairs. The lawyer further argued that IPC Section 304 part two was wrongly applied. Salman was charged with an additional charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder that is liable for a 10-year sentence.
For the first time in 13 years Salman Khan gave his statement on 2002 hit and run case on March 27, 2015. The actor in his statement said that he wasn’t driving the car. Also his driver Ashok Singh in his statement said that it was he driving the car and not the actor.
