Die Hard propelled Bruce Williis’s film career and established Alan Rickman as a popular portrayer of villains in American films. Willis’s portrayal of John Mclaine as the witty and realistic action hero in comparison to his predecessors and contemporaries (Rambo, James Bond) made the franchise an instant success commercially and even with the critics.
Die Hard 4 is releasing on DVD in a special 2 Disc pack titled ‘Yippee-Ki-Yay’ (a line voted as the top 100 best lines in Movie History). The DVD released by Excel HomeVideos has scores of extra features including a a never-before-seen version of the movie with 32 new cuts, more hardcore action and gritty language — including graphic sequences too intense for theaters. Plus hours of new special features, including a spectacular, in-depth 10-part look behind the scenes with the cast and crew that takes the Die Hard fan to core of the franchise, plus an uncensored interview with Willis on the studio backlot and more.
