Mumbai: Morris Publishing Group is partnering with Zvents, the local search engine for things to do, to power its online entertainment and event platform. The two companies have established an agreement that allows Morris website users to discover, contribute, share, and promote events and various sources of entertainment through Zvents’ local search technology products.
Zvents will actively aggregate merchant and event information within cities served by Morris newspaper websites, enabling users to conduct "what, when, where" searches for events, restaurants, businesses, movies, performers, and other local activities using natural language search queries. Through Zvents, users will be able to review details of an event or venue, including date and time, ticket prices, descriptions, venue information, ratings, and mapped locations, as well as contribute their own content through reviews, comments, photos, and related links. Marketers seeking to prioritize local targeting with national coverage will also be able to list their businesses and events on Morris websites using Zvents. Currently the Zvents Media Network receives over ten million local searches per month.
"We are delighted to have Morris Publishing on board. Working collaboratively with the Zvents Media Network of more than 200 media partners allows us to provide the most comprehensive local search for their readers," said Zvents CEO and co-founder Ethan Stock.
Morris Publishing CEO William S. Morris IV said the agreement will enhance the services that Morris newspaper websites offer to both readers and advertisers.
"Information on entertainment and leisure-time activities is highly valued in our time-impoverished society," Morris said. "This not only enables us to present that information, but also our readers can be involved by contributing their own comments and content."
