MUMBAI: Turner and Alva Brothers’ joint venture company Real Global Broadcasting has appointed Sharada Sunder as president.
Sunder will be responsible for brand, content, advertising sales and day to day operations of Real Global Broadcasting’s projects. Working closely with Real Global Broadcasting director Sunil Lulla, Sunder will drive and manage the company’s soon to-be-launched Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC).
Sunder comes with 19 years of experience across various functions in the media industry. Prior to this, she was senior vice president at Zee Entertainment Enterprises, in charge of commercial and projects.
Lulla said, "Sharada has significant experience in scaling media businesses with domain expertise in commercial management of businesses. An accomplished artiste herself, she brings a sensitive understanding of Indian Consumers. We believe her leadership will enable our new Hindi general entertainment channel to establish a distinctive position in the market place."
Sunder added, "I am very excited to lead a neo-age General Entertainment channel in India. There exists an opportunity for a very distinctive position which this partnership can truly leverage its collective heritage, in building a great brand and business."
A chartered accountant by profession, Sunder also held the post of CFO, for various print businesses of Bennett Coleman & Company (BCCL). Additionally, she was involved with the strategy function of growing BCCL’s advertising sales business, managing business development and business efficacy projects.
