HBO lines up blockbuster movies in July

Mumbai: This July HBO brings for its viewers a line up of blockbuster premieres. It will showcase HBO Blockbuster of the Month and commence HBO See It First, HBO Friday Blockbusters and HBO Sunday Superhits.

HBO also launches Season 3 of the EMMY award winning HBO Original Series Entourage in India. It will go on air from 30 June every Monday and Tuesday after the 9pm movie.

HBO Blockbuster of the Month features the premiere of Spider-Man 3 on 11 July at 9:00pm. Peter Parker has finally managed to strike a balance between his devotion to Mary Jane and his duties as a superhero. But when his suit suddenly turns jet-black and enhances his powers, it transforms Peter as well, bringing out a dark, vengeful side of his personality that he struggles to control. The movie stars Tobey Maguire, James Franco, Kirsten Dunst and Thomas Haden Church.

HBO See It First includes a premiere of selected movies every Saturday at 9:00pm. Romantic flick The Holiday starring Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black goes on 5 July, followed by suspense thriller The Departed on 12 July. It stars Leonardo Dicaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg. Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Jean Reno and Ian Mckellen starrer family flick Flushed Away will be showcased on 19 July and drama movie Freedom Writers starring Hilary Swank, Patrick Dempsey, John Benjamin Hickey and Kristin Herrera on 26 July.

HBO Sunday Super Hits showcases chosen movies every Sunday night at 9pm. HBO brings the family flick Casper on 6 July starring Bill Pullman, Christina Ricci and Cathy Moriarty. A mix of action and adventure, The Mummy on 13 July starring Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, John Hannah and Arnold Vosloo, Batman Forever on 20 July starring Val Kilmer, Tommy Lee Jones, Jim Carrey, Nicole Kidman and Chris O’Donnell and A Sound of Thunder on 27 July starring Edward Burns, Catherine Mccormack and Ben Kingsley.

HBO will also showcase socially relevant cinema every Wednesday at 9:00pm only on HBO Makes a Difference. The movies include An Inconvenient Truth on 2 July, Pay It Forward on 9 July, Blood Diamond on 16 July, Darfur Now on 23 July and Gorillas in the Midst: Story of Dian Fossey on 30 July.

HBO brings four chick flicks only on Ladies Day Out, which will showcase Dream Girls, Failure to Launch, Rumour Has It and You, Me and Dupree.

HBO has a host of favourite action adventure Hollywood blockbusters every Friday at 9:00pm on HBO Friday Blockbusters. The line up begins with Wild Wild West on 4 July starring Will Smith, Kevin Kline, Salma Hayek and Kenneth Branagh, followed by Swordfish straring John Travolta, Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry on 18 July. The Friday Blockbusters culminate with Superman Returns starring Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth, James Marsden and Frank Langella on 25 July.
