Mumbai: Adobe Systems Incorporated has announced that Disney.com is leveraging Adobe video solutions to create and deliver rich interactive experiences. Over the past several months, Disney.com has experienced record online traffic levels as viewers logged on to watch full-length movies delivered via the Adobe Flash Platform, the de facto standard for delivering interactive content, applications, and video on the Web.
The announcement coincides with the keynote address at Adobe MAX 2008 North America in San Francisco, Calif. where Disney Interactive Media Group chief technology officer Bud Albers is showcasing Disney.com’s success with online video streaming.
Disney is the latest media giant to adopt Adobe Flash software for delivering video to the Web. According to a September study by comScore Media Metrix, 81percent of online videos viewed worldwide are delivered using Adobe Flash technology, making it the No. 1 format for video on the Web. The study showed over 12 billion online videos are viewed monthly.
"We are thrilled that Adobe’s video solutions are used throughout the Disney.com workflow and enhance the success of a must-visit online destination for families and kids," said Adobe vice president and general manager dynamic media Jim Guerard. "Disney’s iconic characters, movies and content are a defining part of our shared popular culture and Adobe Flash technology is the cornerstone to ensuring Disney.com delivers a high-impact experience, to a huge online audience."
"Adobe video solutions enable us to engage and entertain our audience in rich, interactive, and unprecedented ways. The ubiquitous Adobe Flash Player provides a rich guest experience and allows Disney.com viewers to instantly access our content," said Albers
